Paint guns are the most commonly used source in which we utilize an air compressor; for that, you need a small size compressor for your everyday use, whether you are using it in-home or in shops, etc. A small one will be convenient to use and move between places.
Talking about the size, you need to get a compressor that generate more CFM than your paint or spray gun. However, getting the type of spray gun is completely based on your choice; it can be any, such as a diesel one, an electric or gasoline.
There is only one requirement that it should meet the CFM requirements, and that’s what is needed the most. If we talk about the ratings, mostly spray guns are of 10 CFM or lower than that, but personally, I recommend you to go for a 12 CFM.
What kind of air compressor Do I need to paint a car?
The first approach should be a high-quality air blower, and your paint will not fall from the vehicle. To paint a car, you will need slightly bigger air compressors that go between 14 – and 17 CFM and are of continuous type. The PSI level should be 40 pounds.
If we consider a stage 2 air compressor, a 40-gallon tank will be good enough, which means that it will need electric energy of 220 V. Usually, this kind of air compressor has built-in tanks for storage.
What kind of air compressor Do I need for home?
For home usage, as you don’t need it for long working hours, you barely need it for your home stuff, so a smaller size will be good to go for, because at home after each usage it get enough time to restore the energy.
Talking about the stats, an air compressor between the range of 0-5 CFM is enough considering 70 – 90 psi level for portable use. For better outcome or if you require more work from it, a CFM capacity ranges from 5 – 6 cubic feet per minute, which is more than enough.
What kind of air compressor Do I need for air tools?
Basically, for any air compressor, all you need is a good PSI and CFM level; for portables and non-portables, firstly, here we are talking about non-portables. Usually, for air tools, a PSI level of 100 is required. For painting, you will need an 80 PSI rate.
For excessive use, you don’t want to wait for the air to be stored; 80 gallons of air will do the job for you. At the same time, most air tools work at 80 – 100 psi. The essential factor to know is that having a significant pump and motor resolves most of the problems and helps you in better production.
What kind of air compressor Do I need for industry/factories?
As the name dictates, heavy usage, big size compressors and industries resonate well. In factories, there are multiple workers using a machine. High stress directly means a high duty cycle, and for that, even an air compressor with 7.5hp will be insufficient because in homes we mainly use a one with 2hp.
Now, you know that if your demand is more significant than this, you need a size up from this. An air compressor connected to more comprehensive tools requires a 10 CFM rate concerning the 100 to 120 PSI level.
