How to use a craftsman air compressor?

by Ivan Sanchez | Last Updated April 29, 2022

Craftsman air compressors are well-known for their durability, structure, and efficacy that come at such price range. They are broadly named as high-quality units. But every other type of machine varies in terms of size, air pressure, and tank ability to store air from others, but they all work on the exact mechanism.

There are numerous types of air compressors working according to their specialties in the market. Most of them are difficult to use, but some are easy to handle.

This craftsman is one of the most popular out of all and works on the exact mechanism as the internal motor engine. Since they are pretty new to the era of air compressors, people find it challenging to use them at first.

To resolve this problem, I’ve created a detailed guide on how to use a craftsman air compressor. I guess without any further delay, and we need to get it into it:

6 Steps – How to use a craftsman air compressor

Talking about the craftsman air compressor, a primary mechanism that takes place in the cylinder with the two valves, an intake, and a discharge valve. In which a vacuum is created when a piston drops down; in this way, the input, or you can say the inlet valve opens up.

The machine automatically draws the air in it and then puts it out after completing the inside process. The steps to use a craftsman air compressor are simple to understand, and you can use the compressor for your purposes. That includes;

  1. Connecting the compressor
  2. Oil examination of the compressor
  3. Adjust the air tank and the control valve as necessary
  4. The air hoses connection
  5. Connection of accessory tools
  6. Disconnect and empty the tank’s water supply

These are the main steps to use a craftsman air compressor; if you want to get into detail, the following portion will accommodate you in this regard.

Connecting the compressor:

The first step has to be the machine’s connection to get done, for that you need to read out the instructions written in the box, if you find them a little longer and detailed and want to get done with it quickly, you need to follow these steps.

When preparing a craftsman air compressor, for minimum usage (a small system), place it on a leveled surface and keep in mind not to switch it on immediately. Take hold and connect the compressor to the ground. This is done for insulation, and almost all kinds of motors need to be grounded as a safety measure.

After that, you need to examine the built-in valves to protect them from any sudden failure and connect the compressor to the power switch.

Oil examination of the compressor:

Oil examination is one of the most critical factors in using a craftsman compressor, check the level of the oil with a gauge, and if required, you can also remove the cap of it, and it is advised to check the oil after your every use.

Adjust the air tank and the control valve as necessary:

At the adjustment level, you need to set the level of the air pressure at the particular amount you are going to use the tool so that it can accommodate you in the best way possible. After setting it, the compressor should be turned on entirely so the motor can start working with its mechanism.

The air hoses connection:

When the motor is working, the air tube provides ultimate assistance, and the disconnection of hosepipes can damage the whole machine. To avoid that, disconnect all the lines and the pipes or tubes immediately from the connecting ones.

Talking about the air spaces or sources, majority of people when using a craftsman compressor, cover the air spaces (with a cloth or hand), which can cause the air accumulation in the machine and can result in rupture.

Connection of accessory tools:

This step is unnecessarily avoided for no reason, but you need to connect all the power sources that are present in the craftsman. It can be your washers or paint guns that you are going to use and wait for a few minutes so that the pump can run to get into its function and use it after that for better outcomes and to avoid any inconvenience.

Disconnect and empty the tank’s water supply:

This step does not need much assistance, but sometimes it can also take you hours to process what to do after unplugging the wire from the compressor.

After detaching the valve, you need to drain the air out of it by opening the drainage hole. It is advised to keep unnecessary stuff away from the compressor at its peak performance time.

Conclusion

The use of a craftsman air compressor is increasing day by day; they are used in vehicle engines, refrigerants, heating and cooling systems, etc. The energy that is stored is utilized for numerous purposes in daily activities.

The craftsman air compressor comes with multiple purposes, that incorporates 25 feet of PVC and a specific CFM level. The use of a craftsman air compressor is effortless because of its prime and straightforward construction.
