About Us

Ivan Sanchez authorWho Am I (Ivan Sanchez)?

Hello there!

Meet the founder and mastermind of aircompressorplus.com. I go by the name of Ivan Sanchez, but I love it when someone refers to me as the guy who helped them find the best air compressor for a particular task.

I have around ten years of experience with air compressors, their repair, teaching and guiding new users. I started working with the equipment right after completing my degree in mechanical engineering. In other words, tinkering with tools and machines was always my passion; I turned it into a profession – one of the best decisions ever.

That’s also my mission at ‘Air Compressor Plus’ in a nutshell: to help you make the best decision when it comes to air compressors.

Why Trust Air Compressor Plus

In a world full of sellers, each claiming to have the most authentic information and reliable products, why should you trust Ivan Sanchez’s Air Compressor Plus? Ah, that’s the tricky part. We don’t play favourites nor grant favours here. Any air compressor from any XYZ brand that does the job and commits to quality and performance standards stands as the winner.

Besides, messing around with the machine containing compressed air at high pressure is not a joke. A little error of judgement can cause great harm, both monetary and health-wise. So, I only recommend products I would let my son, relatives and friends use.

A specific memory is on repeat at the back of my mind whenever I jot down my findings about a particular unit here. It was years ago. I was pumping my car’s tire with a low-pressure air compressor for home use. The machine had some fault in the pressure metre, so I didn’t stop when it was time to stop. The next thing I know, BANG! There was a loud noise in my garage. Luckily, I didn’t get any injury; I just had a burst tire and an even more damaged tool at hand. And that was just a light-duty air compressor; imagine the mess a high-pressure unit for heavy-duty use can create if it lacks quality and reliability.

How I Pick, Test and Review Products

Building customers’ trust is a challenge that becomes easy only with transparency. So, I’ll give you a brief and honest description of our testing and reviewing procedures.

I pick and review products independently and not based on the BIG and popular brand name it bears. What I do is that I choose the same capacity air compressors from different companies and test their performances. At least one entire day is assigned to each machine to check it from every aspect. I don’t rely on my judgement alone because to err is human. We send products to our local mechanical experts and auto repair workshop owners – I am friends with a few of them. This practice gets me a second opinion and validation or correction of my initial findings. Once a product checks off all the set boxes of testing, it gets a green signal for reviewing. Actual buyers’ reviews on Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s and Walmart give me a realistic picture of how well or not well a specific model performs in the hands of a regular user. These are particularly helpful in shedding light on the weaknesses and flaws of a machine during the performance.

Reviewing Process

The review process aims to deliver the information we collect after extensive research, fact-checking and testing. Special attention goes to accuracy and up-to-date knowledge regarding the equipment. What you see as a few hundred words of review is the written compilation of my hours of hard work and research and that of other certified experts in my contact list.

Our testing and review focus on the following parameters:

– Type & Style of the air compressor.

– Quality and strength of its motor and overall unit’s build.

– Maximum PSI (pounds per square inch) and CFM (cubic feet per minute) ratings. These two tell a great deal about the force and application capacity of under-inspection air compressors.

– Recovery time and maintenance.

– Noise level.

– How broad is a unit’s utility? To explain it in simple language, how many versatile projects an air compressor can undertake?

– Shelf life and cost-effectiveness of a particular unit.

– How easy or complicated its operating mechanism is.

Another prominent and unique action I take – I haven’t seen many competitors going to such lengths to acquire authentic information – is to arrange a meet-up with other licensed tech and mechanical guys in my locality every couple of months. Usually, the meet-up location is someone’s workshop or garage. There we bring a couple of new models and test them. Afterwards, a 1 – 2 hour discussion session takes place where we share a candid point of view about crucial aspects of different models’ performance over a cup of coffee.

All these expert opinions make up the review content you read in different posts here.

Future Goals

Success is to keep striving; it brings you akin to what you can call perfection. That’s my future goal for ‘Air Compressor Plus’ defined in a nutshell. How I plan to do that is:

– Explore it from a customer’s perspective to improve the shortcomings.

– Expand my testing and reviewing net even further.

– Improve the website interface and layout so beginners and professionals can navigate it conveniently.

– Consult with experts beyond borders to bring the most practical and straightforward solutions to the problems that frequently transpire in a user’s worksite.
